Key discussion areas included:

  • Understanding personal digital assets and why they matter.
  • The current cyber threat landscape and emerging AI-driven attacks.
  • Common cyber scams targeting individuals.
  • Password management and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
  • Email and social engineering awareness.
  • Smartphone and online banking security.
  • Digital hygiene and everyday cybersecurity best practices.
  • Building a culture of cybersecurity awareness.

The webinar also featured an interactive question-and-answer session where participants shared experiences, discussed real-life cyber incidents, and received practical guidance on protecting themselves in today’s digital world.

Speaking after the event, C.itp Anjorin, Ishaq O. Muhsin emphasized that:

“Cybersecurity is no longer the responsibility of IT professionals alone. Every individual who owns a smartphone, email account, social media profile, or online banking application has a responsibility to protect their digital assets. Awareness remains the first and strongest line of defence against cybercrime.”

The event reflects the Nigeria Computer Society’s continued commitment to promoting digital literacy, cybersecurity awareness, and professional development across Nigeria.
